  • Overview

    The DSP Algorithms Engineer will be responsible for the research and development of advanced sleep and health monitoring solutions within the framework of an IoT system that captures consumer biometric data 24 hours a day. This position will be responsible for the research and development of algorithms starting from concept to proof-of-concept prototypes, to their implementations and deployments in the edge devices and cloud, as well as developing testing and validation procedures for newly implemented algorithms.

    Responsibilities

    • Design, develop, and implement novel algorithms for touchless monitoring of sleep, bed presence, biometric monitoring, and assessment of health conditions
    • Perform statistical data analysis, algorithm validation, and performance evaluation
    • Develop machine learning algorithms to solve complex classification and regression problems in sleep and health monitoring domains
    • Document and effectively communicate project status, progress, schedules, and potential risks
    • Work with cross-functional teams and product managers to achieve product milestones
    • Will be able to develop advanced signal processing and machine learning algorithms
    • Will be able to implement and test algorithms for sleep and health data
    • Will be able to draw actionable conclusions from sleep/health data and make effective presentations

    Qualifications

    • MS or higher degree in Biomedical Engineering, Bioengineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent, with at least 5 years of experience
    • 5 years of algorithm/system design, development and validation experience in the medical product markets (sleep/health monitoring and wearables experience are highly desired)
    • Extensive experience in algorithm prototyping and validation with scientific computing packages (Matlab is required, Python or R is highly desirable)
    • Signal processing algorithm development experience for physiological signals (e.g., BCG, EEG) especially those acquired from wearable devices
    • Strong hands-on experience in coding and debugging
    • In depth understanding of the theory of signal processing algorithms
    • High level of competency in statistics, pattern recognition and machine learning
    • Demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals in a highly innovative and fast paced environment
    • Strong communication skills
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
