Overview

The Air Controls Assembler is the constructor and tester for all firmness control systems for Sleep Number beds at the Utah Manufacturing facility. This position also accommodates to the need in rotations into any or all sub-assembly areas. This role exists on 1st and 2nd shift.

Responsibilities

  • Perform primary job duties and able to rotate to all jobs within the cell.
  • Perform paperwork (production reports, error tracking, reject tickets) functions.
  • Strive to exceed productivity/quality rates. 
  • Accepts other projects/assignments as directed by supervision.
  • Maintain good housekeeping in work cell area.
  • Assist in training others.

Qualifications

  • 1 - 5 years assembly experience preferred.
  • Must be able to operate the following equipment:
    • utility knife and combo cutter
    • pneumatic and electric screwdrivers
    • screw-feeders
    • soldering irons
    • test equipment
    • case sealer
    • pallet jack
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to focus on job at hand.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Willing to accept new job functions, procedures, projects etc. with a positive attitude.
  • Welcome new situations positively and as a challenge.
  • Demonstrated work environment flexibility, tolerance with respect to others, and encouraging attitude.
  • HS diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to tolerate sitting and/or standing for long periods of time.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motion type work.
  • Participation in exercise program to prevent repetitive motion injury.
  • Some lifting required, up to 65 lbs.
